چکیده

Census interaction data or origin-destination flow statistics provide the UK academic community with a potentially rich source of information on spatial mobility. Census interaction data comprise the Special Migration Statistics (SMS) and the Special Workplace Statistics (SWS). However, in the 2001 Census, Special Travel Statistics (STS) were released for Scotland which include travel to work as well as travel to study data. Census interaction data have been collected and published from 1981, theoretically providing an opportunity for researchers to study spatial patterns and trends for small geographical areas over the two decades from 1981 to 2001. Unfortunately, it is not a straightforward task to compare census interaction data through time. ABSTRACT

A Recommendation for Net Undercount Estimation in Iran Population and Dwelling Censuses

Census counts are subject to different types of nonsampling errors. One of these main errors is coverage error. Undercount and overcount are two types of coverage error. Undercount usually occurs more than the other, thus net undercount estimation is important. There are various methods for estimating the coverage error in censuses. One of these methods is dual system (DS) that usually uses dat...

Study of Parameters Affecting Separation Bubble Size in High Speed Flows using k-ω Turbulence Model

Shock waves generated at different parts of vehicle interact with the boundary layer over the surface at high Mach flows. The adverse pressure gradient across strong shock wave causes the flow to separate and peak loads are generated at separation and reattachment points. The size of separation bubble in the shock boundary layer interaction flows depends on various parameters. Reynolds-averaged...

Estimating VAT Policy and Compliance Gap across the Iran’s Provinces

Abstract This paper aims to propose a method for measuring the value added tax gap decomposed into two main components: compliance and policy gaps. By definition, policy gap is the difference between the potential tax revenue and what can be collected according to tax code. In comparison, the compliance gap is defined as the difference between full compliance with tax code and the actual compl...

Predicting smoking behaviour in census output areas across Scotland.

Spatially disaggregated surveys of smoking behaviour are rare and hence estimating the geography of the incidence of smoking is difficult. The main aim of this study is to develop a technique for estimating smoking probability for different age/sex groups in small areas across the whole of Scotland using information on smoking behaviour from the Scottish Household Survey. This is useful not onl...

Modeling Interprovincial Migration in China, 1985–2000

Using data from China’s 1990 and 2000 censuses, this paper examines interprovincial migration by describing its spatial patterns and estimating models based on the gravity approach. Between the censuses, interprovincial migration increased considerably in size and became more unidirectional and concentrated. Modeling results highlight the role of regional economic disparity and migration stock,...
